  • Display of Flags to Show Prevalence of Sexual Assault

Wednesday, 4/23

Thursday, 4/24

  • Walk a Mile
    • Walk a Mile is a program where everyone will be asked to walk a mile around campus. Along the walk, participants will stop at campus and community resource tables and educational stations. The purpose of the walk is to raise awareness that It’s On Us all to prevent sexualized violence on our campus.
    • Walk starts in the Havener Center Atrium, 4pm - 4:45pm (roughly)

After the Week, 4/30 - Denim Day Events

  • Denim Day Tabling Event, Hosted by Student Well-Being and Delta Omicron Lambda
    • Outside the Library, 11am-1pm
  • Denim Day Panel- Hosted by University Police Department
    • The panelists will discuss their roles should a report of a sexual assault occur.  Some of the departments/organizations featured on the panel are Rolla Police Department, University Police, Russell House, Phelps Health, Student Well-Being, Student Heath, Dean of Students, Equity/Title IX, and more.
    • Havener Center, St. Pat's A, 5pm
    • Refreshments provided!

What is Denim Day?

Denim Day is an international campaign that began after a ruling by the Italian Supreme Court where a rape conviction was overturned because the justices felt that since the victim was wearing tight jeans she must have helped the person who raped her remove her jeans, thereby implying consent. The following day, the women in the Italian Parliament came to work wearing jeans in solidarity with the victim.
