Scope of practice

Case Managers support students in navigating challenges that may affect their academic success, well-being, and overall student experience by providing coaching and success planning, connecting students with campus and community resources, offering referrals, coordinating care, assisting with emergency funding, and supporting students through processes like UCARE and other community-based services. However, case management does not include clinical assessment, diagnosis, or treatment such as psychiatric care, medication management, counseling or therapy, diagnostic evaluations (including ADHD or learning disability assessments or accommodation-related testing), or mandated or forensic services; in these situations, students are referred to appropriate campus or community providers and supported in connecting with those resources.

Confidentiality

Our case managers are mandated reporters and are required to report information related to a Title IX or Equity policy violation. To learn more about mandated reporters, visit the Title IX website. If you are seeking confidential support, a case manager can refer you to a counselor or student health provider.
